>>Baby dust to all****
A: it will tell you on the bottle what to take. i used vitex too, and it helped me alot. my dosing from the bottle was take two pills, two times a day, and they were 400 each, so i had 1600 a day. another thing to look into, is L-argenine for your partner. it helps sperm quality and even if it isnt a factor, it doesnt hurt. i had my dh on it. i think i had him on 2000 mg a day , 1000 when i was on af. :) blessings and if you never have been there, try the fertilityfriend.com and another good support place is http://fertilefemale.blogspot.com
Q: How much Agnus Castus do you take for infertility reasons?
I have done a lot of research on agnus castus. apparentley It helps with infertilty problems. But the only thing that puzzles me is how much of it are you supposed to take? The dosage on packaging dont really help as they are standard dose. The herb can be taken for many problems, so how much are you supposed to take for a particular problem and how much for conceiving? how do you find out? also how is it supposed to be taken ? i.e is it like you take for 2 weeks and then miss 2 weeks, dont have a clue, and how many Milligrams per day?
i cant go to the doctors as they dont no anything about herbs. plesae help if you know. Are there any herbalists out there who can answer my question please? i also have PCOS
A: im actually taking this for a hormone problem cos i dont want to be on medication for ever. i take 1 tablet every day, ive been taking it now for about 4 months.
The place i got it from just suggested i take one per day
Do you have any herbal shops near you?? if you go to places like holland and barrat they should be able to tell you.
Good luck xx

It was suggested to me because I have a very irregular cycle (ranging 28 to 36 days.) Does anyone know anything about Agnus Castus supplement?
A: Yes, it is most commonly known as Vitex. I just started taking it close to a month ago, so I can't tell you yet if it is working for me. I have heard great thinks about it though, so decided to give it a try. You can google Vitex and get tons of info on it.

Q: Will taking Agnus Castus help me to get pregnant?
Hi, I had the implanon contraceptive removed last Friday, bled from Sunday-Wednesday and now I'm desperate to get pregnant as quickly as possible. Will taking Agnus Castus help? What does it do? I dont really know anything about it, but my sister swears blind it helped her to get pregnant.
A: Agnus Castus has been used very successfully to help regulate hormone levels. But you should also think about a good yeast free multi vitamin, specially formulated for people trying to conceive, and a good oil, like Efamol's Efamarine. These should help regulate your hormones and you should stop the Agnus Castus as soon as you discover that you are pregnant. You may also benefit from some magnesium malate supplements as that will help you relax and sleep, good for reducing stress.
You may wish to consider getting some proper guidance by seeing a specialist nutritional therapist.
Q: How fast did Vitex Agnus Castus work for you?
Please share your experiences with this herb. I am TTC with PCOS, and am currently on CD75 :( Just started taking 1200mg Agnus Castus per day 4 days ago.
Did you start it mid-cycle or CD1? Did it help you O or have AF first? How much did you take? Did it help you conceive?
General experiences please xx
A: I started it mid-cycle because I hadn't had a period for nearly 5 months. about a week and a half after starting it (I think that was around jul. 12) I got a period (jul. 25) and I was only taking 40mg a day. I've since found 500mg caps at gnc and have been taking 2 a day since aug. 4.
since I haven't been taking it long, I'm not expecting anything great this first month. however, I *think* I might have ovulated last week. won't know for sure for another week or so though. ;D
Q: Does agnus castus help produce estrogen and hormones?
I have an abnormal pituitary gland and don't produce enough estrogen on my own. Will this herb "Agnus Castus" help with that? I'm trying to conceive.
A: I’m not sure about that but Dong Quai and Red Clover Blossoms are believed to help. Here is a list of fertility enhancing herbs http://www.fertilityhelper.net/female_fertility_herbs.html
You may also want to find an acupuncturist who practices traditional Chinese medicine. I am seeing one now for infertility and really enjoy it and noticing a difference. She does make me herbs according to my diagnosis.
Best of luck!
Q: Trying to conceive at 45 started taking Agnus Castus and Dong Quai?
Hi
I am 45 and have been trying to conceive for 12 months with no joy. I was not ovulating most months so started taking Agnus Castus and Dong Quai 3 weeks ago and ovulated this month for the first time in about 6 months!
Have any ladies in their 40's got any success stories using herbs to help with fertility?
A: Don't waste your time on herbs. At 45 your chance of ever conceiving goes down with every month. You need to see a Reproductive Endocrinologist to assess you and help with treatment.
Q: What is the difference between Agnus Castus & Vitex Agnus Castus?
I have been reading a lot about Agnus Castus. Is it true that it can help with infertility? if you know then how does it help? Also i have been hearing about Agnus castus and Vitex agnus castus. are they both the same thing or is it that Vitex Agnus Castus is better for infertilty problems? Please answer only if you know, thankyou very much.
A: Vitex Agnus Castus is better for infertility problems in woman.. It stimulate and stabilize the reproductive hormones involve in ovulation, cycle balance and menstrual regularity.
I know for sure because my sister was having problem getting pregnant and she took vitex for one month and now she is three months pregnant.. you can check it out on the net.. It carries no side effects.
Q: Is it true that agnus castus helps you to conceive?
I have been taking agnus castus for a month along with folic acid .
I have pcos and I have heard it can help to regulate your cycle but does it actually work. If so how long does it take to work and is there any thing else that I should be trying to add to my chances.
thankyou
A: I'm taking agnus castus at the moment to see if it regulates my cycles as I also have pcos. It takes about three months to get into your system.
I have been taking it for about two months now and I have a friend who has taken it and she is now pregnant.
She was taking it for about four months along with wild yam cream and the folic acid.
Once you are pregnant then you stop using the agnus castus
the folic acid needs to be taken 3 months before you get pregnant and at least 3months after you conceive.
the wild yam needs to be rubbed into the skin (breast -stomach - thighs or underarms) twice a day from day 7 to 28.
Also I would sugest that if you smoke and drink then stop and also to try and eat health fresh food and do some exercise.
this can help to keep weight in check as being overweight can affect your fertillity.
good luck
Q: is it ok to take clomid and agnus castus at the same time ?
My doctor put me on a progesterone tablets to induce a bleed so I can start clomid, thankfully my bleed arrived today, so I can start clomid tomorrow! Someone has said that I should take Agnus Castus Vitex and Evening primorose tablet to help regulate my periods since my periods have stopped since last yr ! Is it ok to start taking them or should I wait until I have taken the clomid! Thanks
A: Hi I don't have any medical training so I can only give you my personal advice.
Clomid is a powerful drug that can effect your body in many ways-if you have been prescribed clomid Im sure you will have discussed the side effects with your consultant. The natural medications that you are discussing are also powerful, and you can not guarantee that they will work harmonious with your prescribed medication. I would say use the clomid OR the Agnus Castus. try one for a few months and if you have no results try the other. Conception is a delicate balance at the best of times, don't overload your system by combining so many types of chemicals. Best to discuss your questions with your fertility specialist, and the best of luck which ever route you decide to go down
Q: Can I take agnus castus while ttc?
I have been taking agnus castus to regulate my hormones, which have been a little messed up after having 2 miscarriages last year.
It seems to be helping and I am now back into a regular cycle.
I am going to start ttc again next month. My question is, should I keep taking the agnus castus? I've read that it shouldn't be taken in pregnancy. Does that mean that I shouldn't take it while actively trying, or can I take it up to the time of ovulation?
A: hi there,
glad to hear that you period is regular now.
I was also taking vitex last year for some time..
I was taking it up to ovulation and then switch to follic acid from ovulation till my period.. then if the period arrived I would switch to vitex again and so on.. but you can take follic acid all the time.. well you know that.. ;)
it is true that vitex shound not be taken in pregnancy so to avoid to take it after ovulation just in case :)
good luck and baby dust to you..

Q: Agnus Castus - How much do I take to regulate my period, TTC?
Was thinking of trying AC to regulate my out of whack period. Have been TTC for about 5 months now. How much should I take and when. Any other remedies to regulate AF?
A: I'm going to be taking agnus castus too.
What helped me TONS was i just searched "agnus castus" here on yahoo answers and there is tons of information and success storys! You can also google it and get alot of information. You should just follow the rules on the bottle, and sometimes ladys have said that that make them somewhat sick, so they lessened the dose and they feel great.

Q: Best way to take agnus castus and dosage for natural hormone regulation?
Thanks.
A: Vitex agnus castus L. (VAC) [Verbenaceae] is a deciduous shrub that is native to Mediterranean Europe and Central Asia. Traditionally, VAC fruit extract has been used in the treatment of many female conditions, including menstrual disorders (amenorrhoea, dysmenorrhoea), premenstrual syndrome (PMS), corpus luteum insufficiency, hyperprolactinaemia, infertility, acne, menopause and disrupted lactation. The German Commission E has approved the use of VAC for irregularities of the menstrual cycle, premenstrual disturbances and mastodynia. Clinical reviews are available for the efficacy of VAC in PMS, cycle disorders, hyperprolactinaemia and mastalgia, but so far no systematic review has been published on adverse events or drug interactions associated with VAC. The most frequent adverse events are nausea, headache, gastrointestinal disturbances, menstrual disorders, acne, pruritus and erythematous rash.
The main problem is that there is as yet insufficient controlled data to confirm efficacy, dosage, adverse reactions or potential long term risks.
