Q: Vegetable Diet?
Im going on a diet and just eating vegetables and salad, maybe fruits. I also do 30 mins of cardio a day. I was wondering how long until i see results? or How much weight will i lose?

A: i would suggest something other than just veg and fruit. on this diet you are likely to loose weight fairly fast...however. it is very very unlikely to stay off. i really recomend that you have a ballanced diet with lean meat and fish and some carbs (just make sure that htey are thye 'good' ones...you will need them to help you keep up the cardio) following a healthy eating plan rather than a diet will garantee results..it will take longer..but you will feel better for it and it is a much more permenant solution.

Q: Im going on a vegetable diet how much weight can I lose in a month?
I am going to be going on a vegetable diet starting today up until August 21st. I will be drinking a smoothie for breakfast..fruit smoothie which will include yogurt and fresh strawberries and soy milk for lunch I will eat 3 servings of vegetables and for dinner 3 servings. How much weight will I lose in this one month period.

A: All I can say is alot :) I'm currently on a diet like that and I feel great, bit deprived but still good. Good Luck x

Q: Fruit and vegetable diet for 10 days?
I am heavily addicted to processed poultry, meats, salt, diet soda, caffeine, fast food, among other things. I am thinking about going ten days, with only any vegetables and fruit I want, Tea and Water. Is this a good idea that will help me? Any advice appreciated.

A: Yes, it will help you, make sure to add beans to your diet, they are not fattening but they have a good source of protien. If you want to go on a fruits and veggies diet, make sure you eat more veggies than fruits, fruits have lot's of sugars. Make sure your diet consists of lot's of broccoli and Spinach, they are both the very best for you. Good Luck. And drinking lots and lots of water is the best way to lose weight(if that's what your looking for)make sure you drink 8-10 glasses a day. I used to have a diet like yours and when I switched to mostly veggies and chicken diet, I can't ever look at the greasy food the same way

Q: does a fruit and vegetable diet work?
Anyone had success with this diet? like i was thinking of having fruit, vegetables, fruit juice and one serving of meat a day. Is this good or?

A: you need at least some rice or bread... seafood also has lower fat than meat

Q: If I go on a raw fruit and vegetable diet, don't I have to worry about getting enough protein?
I am thinking about going on a raw foods diet, but just eating fruits and vegetables should be healthy, because it is natural, but do people become protein deficient because of not getting protein from sources like nuts, eggs or something? Can fruits and vegetables alone provide enough protein for the body? Thanks

A: The key to long-term fat loss is the maintaining (or even better, increasing) of lean body mass. When you go veggie (or even more drastic, raw), your protein levels will likely be too low and your body will start "eating" your muscles, decreasing your lean body mass. This saps your metabolism and your strength. When you start eating like before, you'll gain back more weight since your metabolism has slowed. I was a vegetarian for 4 years (at 230 lbs, I didn't get anywhere near the protein I should have), and without soy products, I couldn't have done it. I might have a raw meal every now and then, but I would never do it full-time.

Q: What is a good fruit and vegetable diet?
If I wanted to try out this new way of eating starting mon only fruits and vegtable what are some good ideas?

A: try sparkpeople.com they will arrange a menu and grocery list full of wholesome fruits and veggies if you choose the vegetarian option of course :)

Q: Can you survive on a fruit and vegetable diet?
I was wondering if this is possible in your OPINION. I know that nutritionally it is absolutely possible, but what do you think? This includes JUST fruit and vegetables, no grains and seeds and such.

A: Yes you can - I maintain a healthy diet and do not eat anything out of a can, packet or processed. I don't eat meat of any kind. This leaves only vegies and fruit which in summer is my diet. I beat cancer this way

Q: Has anyone tried the brown rice and vegetable diet?Does it work? How much did you lose?
How long did you do it for?

A: well my own take on it...this summer I lost 23 pounds..cut out all bad snack foods, made each calorie count, and for dinner I often ate boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut thin and sauteed with a little olive oil and spices...brown rice and steamed vegies...snacks at around 3pm was a large bowl of steamed veggies..no butter! 2 cups equal 50 calories and its really filling..breakfast is/was 1 cup plain non fat yougert w/a cut up banana and lunch was light..if out w/friends, then a salad w/dressing on the side or a single fish taco w/a small side of beans...at home it was cottage cheese w/veggies added and some balsamic vinegar...sound kind of harsh, but it really worked and I wasn't often hungry....oh and lots of water...and lots and lots of cardio...good luck...

Q: How much can you lose on a fruit and vegetable diet?
I am 5'9 and 283 pounds and sick of being fat!!!!

A: my friends are on the same diet she lost 5 pounds in 1 week but drank only water

Q: Does a vegetable cleanse diet work and how much weight?
I am on a 7 day diet of my own making, all vegies and a few protiens and some sweet potatoes. I am going to do 3 hi-lo aerobics classes, 3 weight work-outs, sit-ups and dog walk every morning and also drink tons of water. Ive been going for 3 days now. WIll I LOSE?

A: There is only one flaw in your eating... Please increase protein intake to help your heart build. Otherwise, your body will eat your muscle and heart to feed your brain as you increase you metabolism. Then it will work. The life of a red blood cell is every four months, so be disciplined and it will pay off.

Q: Would an all raw vegetable diet be effective?
I'm not vegetarian, but I love veggies. I read Fit for Life and it says you shouldn't eat fruit with anything else and only to eat them in the morning. So, I thought if I ate fruits in the morning and raw veggies during the day, I'd lose weight. But, I do like to put dressing on my salads. Will dressing spoil it all?

A: You will get bored. I went up to 80 % raw and still got bored. But I did it for 3 weeks and felt better. To tell you the truth the diet in my YA profile under "about me" is the diet I lost 50+ lbs on in just 8 weeks. It is an alkalizing diet but extremely filling. You might want to take a look at it since your thinking baout raw. Dressing spoils it all unless your doing balsalmic vinegar, or braggs vinegar, or olive oil.

Q: What is good fruit or vegetable for diet people ???
I 'm 90 pound and I'm looking for some vegetable or fruit that are good for my body . I don't want any fruit or vegetable that are high in sugar coz i dont' thinnk sugar is good for your body .. Thanks

A: most fruits have natural sugar- so you want high fiber fruits to balance the sugar. Berries are among the highest in fiber. Vegetables- just about any are good, the ones to limit are the starchy ones like potatoes and corn, the rest are great, the best are the leafy greens because they have the most vitamins and minerals.

Q: What Will Happen on a Fruit & Vegetable Diet?
This summer, I have gained quite a few pounds. School starts around September 4th, and I would like to lose at a minimum, 5 pounds. I know it will be a lot of work, but I have read about fruit and vegetable diets, and detoxes. I already have a pretty good diet. I don't eat any meat but fish. So, I was wondering: if I replaced 2 meals with strictly fruit and vegetables, and had fish for dinner every two nights or so (other nights, dinner would be vegetables), how much weight would I lose weekly? I would also be exercising every day - walking, running, bike riding. I would also only be drinking water. And, I am taking a multivitamin, already. So, please, if you can, give me a general idea of how much weight loss is possible (weekly and monthly), it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

A: Your diet is pretty well planned, I guess. You should eat meat on a daily basis, especially after you exercise, unless you want to have nothing but skin and bone. Don't forget about adding some wheat into your diet as well; Stick to the food triangle. ^-^ You probably could lose 1-3 pounds per week depending on how much you work out and how well you eat. I hope I helped!

Q: Why is meat bad for you? And what are the benefits of vegetable diet?

A: 1) High fat (yes, even lean meat is extremely fatty) 2) High cholesterol 3) Filtered nutrients 4) Takes several days to digest and acts as a barrier between the digestive linning and other foods to prevent the body from deriving nutrients from other sources. 5) Linked to colon cancer, heart problems, obesity, and tuberculosis as well as many other diseases. 6) Clots your arteries reducing blood flow causing heart attacks, strokes, or at the least erectile dysfunction. The benifits of a vegetable diet include. 1) Provide more nutrients that are not filtered including protien, B12, calcium, and Iron. 2) Cleanses the digestive tract to allow it to better digest foods and better derive nutrients. 3) Reduces blood cloting 4) Low in fat to reduce obesity 5) Low in cholesterol 6) Contains high amounts of anti-oxidants which result in healthy cell growth. 7) Gives you more energy and maintains a healthy metabolism. 8) Reduces chances of developing diabetes, corinary heart disease, hypertension, stroke, high blood pressure, and certain forms of cancer. 9) Longer life span.

Q: Can fruit replace vegetable in diet?
If I only take fruit without eating vegetable, can I still stay healthy?

A: fruit has a natural sugar that vegies generally dont have. you should always check with each particular dish. but remember.....our bodies NEED the sugar and electrolites found in fruit. We also need the minerals and other goodies that Vegies hold. They each have their own natural qualities that is needed to be healthy and physically stable. Try to have a nice medium balance! that way you're body is getting everything it needs and not pushing itself to make up for the difference of missing one or the other. Good luck!
